Mr. Thompson, a certified Professional Engineer in the State of New Mexico, became President and CEO of IMTEC in March 2007, as a result of the merger of IMTEC Corporation and HYTEC Incorporated. Prior to being named Chief Executive of IMTEC, Mr. Thompson was Chairman and CEO of HYTEC, a Los Alamos, New Mexico company providing sensing and imaging products as well as engineering services. Mr. Thompson has an MS in Mechanical Engineering, and has been active in the area of precision engineering since 1978. Under his leadership, HYTEC received the prestigious R&D 100 award in 2003 for breakthroughs in advanced manufacturing utilizing FlashCT™, an advanced CAT scan for industrial applications. Mr.

Thompson was
instrumental in creating ILUMA, a revolutionary in-house CT
machine that offers fast scan times, high resolutions and unprecedented
clarity for clinicians. His past experience includes serving
as Group Leader of Design Engineering at Los Alamos National
Laboratory, where he led design engineering efforts on the
world’s first all composite satellite, FORTE, and also served
as the Chief Engineer for the Superconducting Super Collider’s
Particle Tracker, GEM. His engineering background includes
serving as an aerospace engineer for Honeywell in Phoenix,
Arizona, where he was responsible for the design and analysis
of turbine components used in jet engines. Mr. Thompson is
a member of the American Society for Precision Engineering,
the American Society for Mechanical Engineering, the American
Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and ASM International.
In 1996 he was a finalist for DISCOVER Magazine’s
Aerospace and Aviation Award. Mr. Thompson resides in Santa Fe
with his wife Barbara.
