To
have a permanent restoration made, a clinician
must fully prepare the patient’s tooth or teeth
to receive the restoration and then take an impression
that will be sent to a laboratory.
While the laboratory is making the permanent
restoration, a temporary restoration is used.
IMTEC’s new self-mixing LEXATITE Temporary
Crown and Bridge Material cold cures in the mouth
in just one minute and sets completely in three
minutes.
This cuts down on labor, materials and
chair-time, making the entire procedure more affordable
for the clinician and the patient.
LEXATITE
can be used for temporary crowns, bridges, inlays
and onlays.
To make the temporary restoration, the
clinician simply uses IMTEC’s Secure Dispensing
Gun, Type II Extruder (item number 8028) to extrude
the fluid LEXATITE material directly into the
cast impression.
No mixing is required since the material
passes through a mixing tip similar to the one
used with SECURE Hard and Soft material.
The cast impression filled with LEXATITE
is then placed in the patient’s mouth for 1 to
1.5 minutes.
Because the material has no odor or sting,
tooth pulp will not be damaged and the patient
will be comfortable.
Next, the clinician will remove the impression
and allow two more minutes for the LEXATITE material
to completely set.
After the material has set, the clinician
can trim, finish and place the temporary restoration.
There
are six shades of LEXATITE available (BL, A1, A2,
A3, B1, B3), so the restoration can closely match
the shade of the patient’s surrounding teeth for
pleasing esthetics.
A complete set of LEXATITE includes one cartridge
of all six shades and is priced at $399.00 (US).
Each shade can also be purchased separately
at the price of $85.00 (US).
The IMTEC Secure Dispensing Gun, Type II
Extruder is used to dispense LEXATITE material.
Disposable mixing tips are sold separately
in packs of ten.
