IMTEC CEO Speaks at Venture Forum

Tim Thompson, President and CEO of IMTEC Corporation, addressed members of the Oklahoma Venture Forum on Wednesday, April 9, in Oklahoma City.  IMTEC was selected by the Oklahoma Venture Forum as the 2007 Venture of the Year winner, an award given to an Oklahoma company with the most progress in business technology.

Thompson was elected to his present post in March 2007 as CEO when IMTEC merged with HYTEC, Inc., of Los Alamos, New Mexico.  While Chairman and CEO of HYTEC, Thompson was instrumental in developing the ILUMA™CT scanner as a joint venture with IMTEC.  Thanks to IMTEC engineers, digital dentistry is becoming more accessible to general dentistry.

“The ILUMA™ technology creates wonderful three dimensional images of your head,” said Thompson.  “With our advanced imaging tools, we know ahead of time where the bones and nerves are.  We can do the planning with just images we’ve created radiologically, which means we can guarantee a successful implant.”

This innovative ultra cone beam CT, along with IMTEC’s well-established line of small diameter implants, has established IMTEC as a company leading the way in minimally invasive implantology.  The IMTEC® Sendax® MDI Implant system was developed by IMTEC founder and Chairman of the Board Ronald A. Bulard, DDS, along with Victor I. Sendax, DDS.

The Venture of the Year award bestowed on IMTEC in 2007 is further proof that this growing, Ardmore-based company is quickly gaining a reputation for innovations in the dental and medical fields.

“Because IMTEC has a proven track record of success, we’re at the point now where we’ve crossed over the precipice,” says Thompson.  “We’re seeing a lot of adoption of our products.”

Although the ILUMA™ Scanner is sophisticated technology, one of IMTEC’s goals is to make CT technology available for more than just a select few.

As Thompson says, “IMTEC is really about technology that is used to simplify the dentist’s life.”

The Oklahoma Venture Forum meets monthly and features past award recipients as speakers.
