IMTEC Celebrates ILUMA Scanner Milestone
Ardmore - IMTEC Corporation, an Ardmore based dental specialty products company, celebrated the one year anniversary of production of the ILUMA Scanner in December 2007. The ILUMA Scanner is a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) system that delivers high quality CT images for medical and dental clinicians. December also marked the first anniversary of IMTEC’s exclusive contract with Eastman Kodak Co., now Carestream. Eastman Kodak distributes the ILUMA to the dental community in the United States. IMTEC also signed an agreement with GE Healthcare in September 2007, giving GE distribution rights to the US medical community.

“This great milestone is possible due to the hard work of all IMTEC Corporation employees,” said Tim Thompson, IMTEC President and CEO. “This accomplishment results from the efforts of many people inside and outside our company – IMTEC’s Engineering, Manufacturing, and Marketing Departments, as well as our global strategic distribution partners, Kodak and GE.”
The basis of the ILUMA system is FlashCT technology, proprietary software first developed by HYTEC, Inc., a Los Alamos, NM, based company that merged with IMTEC in 2007. HYTEC’s experience in the industrial imaging world for over a decade has enabled the company to develop innovative technology utilized globally in a variety of industries.
“ILUMA is a great realization of our long term strategy to leverage FlashCT core technologies into multiple industries,” said FlashCT Product Manager Tom Nora. “Our superior approach to computed tomography will be adopted by several new applications this year – stay tuned!”
